On Friday evening, 27 October 2017, the Partners of wilson/ryan/grose with their spouses were hosted by Brigadier Chris Field at Lavarack Barracks for the inaugural Lachlan Chisholm Wilson dinner.
The dinner was arranged to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the famous military victory by the Light Horse Regiment at Beersheba. Lachlan Wilson had fought at Gallipoli and was involved in the horse charge at Beersheba. Prior to the First World War, Wilson was a solicitor in Townsville from 1902 to 1912 and his name remains in our firm’s name. After the First World War he founded the firm Tully & Wilson in Brisbane.
Wilson was a heroic and brilliant leader during the First World War. In 1917 he was made a Brigadier-General and given command of the Third Light Horse Brigade. Later in his business life, he was a Director of a number of prominent Queensland companies.
Guests at the dinner included military officers and Judges, who heard speeches about Wilson’s military and legal life.
The Partners of wilson/ryan/grose very much appreciated the efforts of Brigadier Field and his men in holding the LC Wilson dinner.
