More Information

For more than 40 years, Dan has advocated for the rights of his clients and the communities in which they operate. Specialising in Planning & Environment law, Dan represents individuals through to large development companies and landowners on planning, development and environmental law issues.

He provides expert advice on a range of planning and environmental issues – from development approvals, site acquisition and development (including preparation of contracts, joint ventures, conveyancing and other commercial dealings), through to land resumption, compensation claims, environmental licensing, and contaminated land.

Dan has appeared in multiple courts to advocate for his clients and is also experienced preparing for and briefing counsel to appear in the Planning and Environment Court, Land Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court of Australia.

A proud resident of North Queensland, Dan is a strong believer of the appointment of regional experts to assist with regional projects and invests time to help identify, inform and support the development of local professionals. He regularly travels to regional parts of Queensland to meet with planners and surveyors and provide insights into the legal updates that may impact them.

Naturally competitive and with a strong moral compass, Dan enjoys identifying his clients’ legal boundaries and helping enforce or defend them. He is recognised for his high-quality and accurate advice, as well as his high dependability and dedication to the success of his clients.

Dan is a member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association and a Fellow of the Urban Development Institute of Australia.
