David Patton

David has helped Queenslanders with the purchase, sale and leasing of property and commercial assets for more than 25 years.

With general commercial, commercial property and residential property law expertise, David is highly experienced working with buyers, sellers, developers, landlords, tenants, bodies corporate, farmers and other business owners on a broad range of transactions. 

David has assisted with the purchase and sale of property throughout Queensland – from local Townsville and north coast matters, through to The Gulf of Carpentaria, over to Cloncurry, and as far south as Coolangatta. He also represents interstate clients buying and selling Queensland properties. Highly experienced with online transactions, David is also an authorised signatory with Property Exchange Australia (PEXA).

Entrenched in the property industry, David has developed strong relationships with industry professionals – including agents, valuers and developers – in Townsville and throughout Queensland. He regularly provides information and updates relating to legislative changes and industry developments – assisting them to achieve a smooth transaction for their clients and stakeholders.

As leader of the firm’s residential property team, David is highly organised, thorough and reliable and has a primary role in developing the firm’s precedents and knowledge management systems. He and his team are well known for their attention to detail, efficient processes and responsiveness – both in relation to how they approach the technical elements of a matter, as well as how they approach client relationships. 

A self-confessed “lover not a fighter”, David applies a considerable amount of care and investment to his transactions – ensuring his clients feel informed, supported, and secure throughout the process and giving transactions the best chance of proceeding smoothly.

Outside of his legal career, David is member of the Property Council of Australia’s Townsville Committee and a member of the Townsville Hospital Foundation Board.
