Increase to the National Minimum Wage

The Fair Work Commission have announced that the National Minimum Wage will increase by 2.5% effective from 1 July 2021.
The National Minimum Wage has increased from $19.84 per hour (or $753.80 per week based on a 38-hour week for a full-time employee) to $20.33 per hour (or $772.60 per week).
This 2.5% increase also applies to minimum Modern Award wages, with the Award increases occurring in staggered stages due to the ongoing effects of coronavirus on certain industries. The Award minimum wage increases are detailed in the table below:

We recommend reviewing your payroll systems and overall workforce to ensure that you are paying your employees lawfully and will continue to do so in accordance with these wage increases.
