Valuation Objection Deadline Extended Due to COVID-19
15th April 2020
Annual land valuations for properties in Queensland were issued on 4 March 2020 with the due date for objections originally slated to be 5 May 2020.
The office of the Valuer-General has advised that, while the deadline technically remains as 5 May 2020, it will continue to assess objections lodged before 1 July 2020 provided such objections are accompanied by an explanation for the late lodgement (with difficulties associated with COVID-19 being a valid explanation).
The Valuer-General retains a discretion to accept any objections lodged between 1 July 2020 to 3 March 2021; however, any objection lodged within this timeframe would need to be supported by detailed and valid reasons for the late submission for it to be accepted.
If you would like to know more about the land valuation objection process please do not hesitate to contact Dan Morton or William McKenzie.
